Site Noise

Inverters

The current design from RES proposes 13 inverters although this could change. Click the button below to see what a solar farm sounds like.

What a solar farm sounds like

Pile Drivers

The solar panels will be mounted on frames. The supports for the frames are solar piles which are driven into the ground. Given the number of panels required to be mounted on the frame, this could result in significant noise pollution.

Construction

Construction

As well as pile drivers, the construction of the solar farm will also require a significant deployment of labour and machinery. Diesel engines and  power tools used constantly, vehicle reversing warnings and alarms, hydraulic telehandling/crane  equipment traversing the site, will lead to oppressive noise.
